Mr. Motts was everything his beautifully worded tribute speaks to. He was influential in my formative years as a teacher. I will never forget his kindness at a time when a young teacher needed it most. His smile, soft spoken ways, impeccable grooming, respect that he gave as well as received were there then and continued on in friendship over many years.
God takes only the very best home with him. He has a special reserved for my special friend, Mr. Motts.
Grateful to have known him,
Sharon Messina

Our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Ken Motts. He was our English teacher, but that was just the beginning. I worked with Jeanne at the Elementary School and we helped them move from Drake St. to Farnsworth Ave. Ken became the organist at our church, part time, which lasted several years! We were blessed by his musical talents and wisdom. A gentleman and fine example of Christian character. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Ken 21 years ago at West Middlebury Fall Ushers Musicale. Since then, he was not only an accompanist, but a mentor and a dear, dear friend. At his home in Oakfield, he would introduce me to, and push me, to perform pieces I didn't like, didn't want to and knew I couldn't. But he was always right - I can never pay him a high enough compliment for showing me what was musically possible. I was very, very privileged to be accompanied by one of the very best. Alzheimer's may have taken the man I remember so fondly, but I have wonderful memories.

Ken, as I was honored to call him later in life, was really always Mr. Motts to me. He was a mentor, a guide, and the teacher for me which I hope we have all been blessed to experience. A person, slipping in to our lives, at the right moment of need, to move us beyond a point of stagnation, of frailty. Ken helped me establish both an understanding of compassion and that our best self is one showing respect, love, and support for others. Ken was (and is) a charming person, a caring person, a representative of God’s mission for us all.

Dear Family of Ken, Mr. Motts..
so many memories of him when we were in school and then as he played the organ at the Oakfield United Methodist Church for so many years...He and Jeanne were two very special people and touched so many lives...i remember shortly after Jeanne passed away the Fanchers brought Ken, Mr Motts to our vacation home in Vermont....His music touched so many lives....to this day, i just can't seem to call him Ken...so rest in peace and play with the Angels...they say the only thing one can take with you when you pass away is the good you left behind and HE sure did leave us all with MUSIC and laughter...Jeris and Don Boyce, Lake Forest Illinois

Ken was a wonderful man. He visited my previous husband Wm. Dietrich before his passing in 1992. Ken & Jeanne were so nice to my husband. I am so grateful to him, he helped me a lot. I remarried after Bill passed.
