Obituary of Marguerite F. Adams

 

Elba -Mrs. Marguerite F. ”Midge” Adams, 82, of Elba, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her daughters’ home in Batavia while under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.

Mrs. Adams was born June 6, 1935 in Clarendon, a daughter of the late Walter D. and Florence M. Hill Buck.

A 1953 high school graduate from Oakfield Alabama, Midge retired in 1997 from K-Mart in Batavia after over 20 years of employment. She enjoyed played Bingo, watching games shows on television and had a large collection of stuffed teddy bears. She was a fan of college basketball, especially the NCAA Tournament and college football. Midge enjoyed watching the Little League World Series on television every year.

She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Robert B. “Bear” Adams, who passed away on March 18, 2017.

She is survived by her daughter, Nora Adams of Batavia; her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Ryan of Odenton, Maryland; three grandchildren, Cale Rice of Elba, Heather (Rob) Burns of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Rachael (Daniel) Kelly of Columbia, Maryland; five great-grandchildren, Ben and Emily Burns of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Corinne, Alanna and Fiona Kelly of Columbia, Maryland; her sister-in-law, Betty (late Walter) Buck of Stafford and several nieces and nephews.

Midge is predeceased by her sons, Paul Adams and Robert C. Adams and her siblings, Beverly Daum, Beulah Daly and Walter Buck.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where services will follow at 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in her name to HomeCare & Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Suite #6, Batavia, New York 14020.
